Built on the Rock

Therefore whoever hears these saying of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.  Matthew 7:24-25 NKJV

Vision

To be an extension of the Church to reach children, youth, and families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through outdoor activities, life skills, and missions.

History

Paul Jackson, Loyd Garland, Henry Melton are the names of three men who in 1956 shared a simple dream that the baptists of West Georgia might have a place to retreat from the pressures of the world. A place where God's still small voice might be heard over the day-to-day noises of life. This dream became reality with the purchase of 163.5 acres of land in 1957.

Today, this dream lives on with the support of churches through the original associations, Carroll, Troup, and Western Baptist. The original statement of purpose formed in 1961 states, "Rockridge will provide a place to provide maximum leadership training and program for enlarged fellowship for Christian service. It will provide for physical, mental, moral and spiritual development. Such is the sacred purpose of trust to which it has been committed..."
